5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing without your prior consent. We share information in the following circumstances:

5.1 Service providers

We use trusted companies to perform services for us, including but not limited to hosting and maintenance of the Site, storing form submissions, managing our contact list, sending our newsletter, performing Site analytics and performance monitoring, and analyzing Site traffic. They may access personal information only to perform services for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

5.2 Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of End Chronic Disease, our supporters, or the public, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

5.3 Organizational changes

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of End Chronic Disease’s assets to a third party, we may also disclose your personal information to the third parties concerned or their professional advisors. In the event of such a transaction, the personal information held by End Chronic Disease will be among the assets transferred to the third party.

5.4 Aggregated information

We may share statistics about Site usage that do not identify any individual, for example the number of visitors in a month.

6. Donations

When you click a Donate button on the Site, you leave our website and complete your gift on pages operated by our donation processor. Our donation processor collects your name, contact details and payment information under its own privacy policy and terms, available on its website. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Our donation processor provides us with donor information, such as your name, email address and gift amount, which we keep in our contact records so that we can thank you, provide tax receipts, and keep you informed about our work.

7. Email communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will send you periodic emails about our work, research, and policy developments. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can stop these emails at any time by clicking it or by emailing us at info@endchronicdisease.org. We may still send you non-marketing emails, such as a reply to a message you sent us or a donation receipt.

We never share your email address with third parties for their own marketing without your consent.

8. How long we keep information

Contact form submissions are kept in our form storage and contact database pursuant to our record retention policy.

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, after which your address is retained only on a suppression list so that we do not email you again.

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for fourteen months in identifiable form, after which only aggregated reports remain.

9. Children

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Please contact us at info@endchronicdisease.org if you suspect that we have collected any such information. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete the information as quickly as possible.

10. Security

The Site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we use reputable service providers that maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Links to other websites

The Site links to news articles, broadcasts, podcasts and other websites that we do not control, including our donation processor and social media platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to read them.

12. Visitors outside the United States

The Site is operated from the United States and is intended for a U.S. audience. If you visit from outside the United States, your information will be processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
